Track and Field Wraps Up Multis with Two Top-Five Finishers

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field continued the Jim Click Shootout and Multis with the completion of the heptathlon and decathlon. Two Wildcats found their way into the top-four of the multis competition.

Day Two Highlights (Multis)
Skylar Sieben landed within the top-five in each of the remaining events of the heptathlon to finish the multis competition with a third-place finish of 5,521 points. Hollan Powers added her third event PR in the 800m run to complete her multis competition.

Dominic Gehr started the second day of the decathlon in 12th place after five events, but mounted a huge comeback during his impressive performance on Friday. Gehr earned a PR in two of his final five events, the pole vault (4.90m) and the javelin (56.85m), while also placing in the top-three in three of the final five events. Gehr ended the second day of competition in fourth place with a new overall decathlon PR of 7,325 points.

Day One Highlights (Multis)

Skylar Sieben finished the first day of the multis in third place overall after four events. She started the day hot with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, finishing at a time of . She placed fifth in the shot put before winning the 200m dash with a time of 24.68.

Hollan Powers earned two straight event PRs during the heptathlon in the shot put and the 200m dash to place within the top-10 at the end of the first day.

The Cats will return tomorrow at Roy P. Drachman at 1:00 p.m. MST on Saturday with Jaisen Brown and Ava David in the hammer throw. The running events will kick off at 5:20 p.m. MST with the 110m hurdles.
