Colorado Heads To California Meets

BOULDER – The University of Colorado track and field program will compete in five different meets in California and Colorado, beginning Wednesday and competing everyday through Saturday.
 
The Buffs will begin their week split between the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitationals Wednesday. Both of those meets will run through Friday, while throwers will begin competing at the Pacific Coast Invitational Thursday at Long Beach State. The team will return to Long Beach State for the Beach Invitational Friday and Saturday. Those athletes remaining in Colorado will compete at the Doug Max Invitational Saturday at CSU.
 
Wednesday begins with the heptathlons and decathlon competitions at Bryan Clay and Mt. SAC Relays. Elise Gillett and Allie Routledge compete in the heptathlon at Bryan Clay along with Nick Bianco and John Swabik in the decathlon. Avery McMullen and Jada Green will begin their competition in the heptathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Wednesday night will close with the distance athletes competing in the steeplechase and 10,000-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
 
Action on Thursday will separate between three meets with the throwers competing at the Pacific Coast Invitational, the conclusions of the heptathlon and decathlons, and the 800 and 5,000-meter distance athletes in action at Bryan Clay. Madie Boreman will also close out the night in the elite steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Relays. Thursday should be an exception day for the distance crew with Eduardo Herrera and Emily Covert leading 13 different Buffs in the 5Ks at Bryan Clay.
 
Friday will be the longest day for CU with action from 11 a.m. MT to 11 p.m. MT. Athletes will compete across the board in sprints, throws, jumps and distance events. One of the major highlights of the evening will be Micaela DeGenero making her outdoor debut in the 1,500. Andrew Kent, who is ranked fourth in the NCAA in the 5,000, will also run the 1,500. Abby Nichols closes out the distance weekend in the 5,000 Elite Invitational at the Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Other athletes in action Friday include both the men and women in the 4x400-meter relay, the 400 hurdle crew, and Noah Bouchard and Kylee Harr in the high jump fresh off CU top-10 marks.
 
In the final day of competition, the Buffs will compete in the Beach Invitational and Doug Max Invitational at CSU. Throwers, sprinters and jumpers will compete at the Beach Invitational, many doubling back from the day before.
 
The Bryan Clay Invitational will be live streamed by FloTrack, while the Mt. SAC Relays will be streamed by Runnerspace.com.
