Lynch Strikes Out A Career-High 15, Huskies Win 2-1

Apr 15, 2022

SEATTLE – Behind a career-high 15 strikeouts from pitcher Kelley Lynch, the No. 11 Huskies secured the series-clinching win over No. 19 Oregon State in a 2-1 victory over the Beavers on Friday night. Washington moves to 24-11 on the season with a 5-6 mark in Pac-12 play.

Lynch tossed a complete game three-hitter, while fanning 15 and allowing only one walk. The junior picked up her fourth win of the season.

Jadelyn Allchin leadoff the third inning with a single up the middle and advanced to second on a sac bunt by Rylee Holtorf. A single by Sami Reynolds put runners on the corners with one out for Baylee Klingler. The senior, Klingler, hit a double that was just off the top of the left field wall to drive in both runners to put the Huskies up 2-0.

Oregon State responded in the fourth on a solo home run by Frankie Hammoude to cut Washington's lead to one.

The Beavers had a chance to tie the game in the sixth after a leadoff double and advancement to third on a UW error, however Lynch got the next three batters out on a pop up and a pair of strikeouts to end the threat.

The Huskies close out the series with Oregon State on Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. first pitch. The game will also air on Pac-12 Networks.
