SAMMAMISH, Wash. - STANFORD's Henry Shimp was named the 2021-22 Pac-12 Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced ahead of the Pac-12 Championships. The award, which is presented in each of the 24 sports the Pac-12 sponsors, was established to honor collegiate student-athletes that are standouts both academically and in their sports discipline.

The graduate student from Charlotte, N.C., carried a 3.65 undergraduate grade-point average in science, technology & society, and currently owns a 3.39 GPA in Stanford's management science and engineering master's program.

Shimp owns a 72.0 scoring average with three top-20 finishes through nine events so far this season. For his career, he holds a 72.5 scoring average with eight top 20s and four top 10s including a runner-up finish at the 2021 Pac-12 Championships en route to earning Second Team All-Pac-12 honors.

During his junior season in 2018-19, Shimp helped the Cardinal to the team title at the Pac-12 Championships and also provided the clinching point in Stanford's 3-2-0 victory over Texas in the NCAA Championship match.
