Apr 26, 2022

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Arizona Men's Golf battled the challenging Aldarra Golf Club for a second consecutive day to finish round three of the 2022 Pac-12 Championships in a tie for 10th at 43-over par. The Wildcats carded a 10-over round on Tuesday as only one team in the field broke par. Santeri Lehesmaa posted Arizona's best score for the day with a 1-under round of 70.

"Today was our best scoring day through three rounds, but we were not as sharp throughout the day to move up the leaderboard like we needed to," said head coach Jim Anderson. "I am confident we have learned from the challenges of the tournament thus far and will put together a strong final round to end the week on a high note."

Graduate senior Christian Banke remains Arizona's top individual for the week, sitting in a tie for 14th place at 2-over par. Banke has been a consistent force in Washington with rounds of 72, 71 and 72. Junior Chase Sienkiewicz ended Tuesday's third round in a tie for 39th at 8-over with freshman Johnny Walker one stroke behind him in 44th place.

Wednesday marks the fourth and final round of the conference championships. Arizona, tied with Washington State, is ten strokes behind the next three programs in the team standings. The Cats will be paired with Colorado and Washington State in the final group of teams, teeing off at 8:47 a.m. (MST).
