Apr 27, 2022

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The 2022 Pac-12 Championships came to a close after its three-day run of 72 holes as Arizona Men's Golf finished in 11th place at 56-over par. The Wildcats' final round score of 13-over was its second lowest of the championship. Graduate senior Christian Banke was Arizona's top finisher, ending his week in a tie for 10th at 2-over par.

"We never could seem to get momentum nor consistency going throughout the week, and we did not perform as a team to the level we are accustomed to," said head coach Jim Anderson. "Hats off to Christian for weathering the elements and the challenging conditions to earn another top-10 finish. This is a determined and driven group of guys who I know are putting this week behind them and looking forward to competing again at NCAA's."

Banke's top-10 showing in Washington was his seventh this season and 11th of his career. Junior Chase Sienkiewicz and freshman Johnny Walker tied for Arizona's second-lowest score for the championships at 11-over and 45th place.

Arizona now waits until the NCAA Men's Golf selection show on Wednesday, May 4 on the Golf Channel for their return to action for NCAA Regionals.
