May 4, 2022

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced that the Utah women's tennis duo of Anastasia Goncharova and Linda Huang collected Pac-12 All-Conference honors Wednesday afternoon. Goncharova and Huang landed on the honorable mention team.

Goncharova earned her second-straight honorable mention honors. In her second season with the Utes, she led the team in singles wins (15) and doubles wins (17). Goncharova and doubles teammate Emily Dush ranked as high as No. 54 in the ITA double rankings this season. She primarily played on the No. 4 singles spot and the second spot in doubles.

On February 11 against Washington State, Goncharova clinched a 4-3 win for the Utes as she won a three-set match against Elysa Tese. Goncharova came away with a 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-3 victory for the win, which moved the Utes to 8-0 on the season. In doubles, Goncharova and Dush came away with a massive win over then-No. 30 Ava Catanzarite and Abbey Forbes of UCLA, 6-1. The duo also won against USC, 6-3, helping the Utes to their first-ever victory over USC.

Huang ended her first season with the Utes with the second-most singles wins (13), and the team's third-most doubles wins (14). As a graduate transfer, Huang stepped into the top singles spots for Utah. She earned three ranked singles wins this season. Her biggest win as a Ute came on March 4 when she defeated fifth-ranked Eryn Cayetano. The win over Cayetano is the third-highest opponent beaten by a Ute in program history.

Huang was ranked as high as the 97th best singles player in the nation by the ITA. In doubles, Huang teamed with Madison Tattini on court one. The duo came away with a 6-4 win over then-No. 39 Haley Giavara and Valentina Ivanov in the Pac-12 tournament.

Goncharova (2021) and Huang are the program's 11th All-Pac-12 selection, joining Brianna Chisholm (2018), Margo Pletcher (2017), Tereza Bekerova (2013-15), Sarah Pham (2013), and Anastasia Putlina (2012) as an honorable mention selection.
