May 28, 2022

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Prelims are in the books and Arizona added two women to the contingent headed to Eugene, Oregon for the NCAA Championships from June 8-11. Shannon Meisberger advanced in the 400m hurdles and Talie Bonds qualified in the 100m hurdles.

Day Four Highlights

Shannon Meisberger continued to excel in the 400m hurdles, clocking a personal record time of 56.39 in Saturday's quarterfinals to win her heat by over a second and qualifying second overall out of the West region. Last year, Meisberger was the NCAA runner-up in the 400m hurdles.

Talie Bonds also booked her ticket to Eugene in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.85 to finish third in her heat and automatically advance. It took a lean right at the finish line to secure automatic spot but her time was fifth overall among all qualifiers. She will be making her first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Arizona will send a total of four athletes to the NCAA Championships. In addition to Meisberger and Bonds on the women's side, Jared O'Riley (javelin) and Reinaldo Rodrigues (long jump) qualified on the men's side and will be making their debuts at the NCAA Championships in Eugene.
