Meisberger Finishes Eighth in 400 Hurdles at NCAA Championships

Jun 11, 2022

EUGENE, Ore. – On the final day of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Arizona senior Shannon Meisberger made it back-to-back first team All-American honors in the 400m hurdles.

On a rainy day in Oregon, Meisberger entered the finals of the event having run the fourth-fastest time in the semifinals on Thursday. She got off to a good start in the finals but was unable to sustain it with the leaders and her time of 56.825 put her in eighth place, just 0.004 behind seventh place.

After finishing as the national runner-up in this event last year, Meisberger becomes the first UA women's athlete to earn back-to-back First Team All-American honors in the same event since Sage Watson in the 400m hurdles in 2016 (3rd) and 2017 (1st).
