Baron On Colombian Training Camp Roster for 2022 Copa America

TUCSON, Ariz. – With the CONMEBOL Women's Copa America 2022 beginning this week, there will be an University of Arizona flavor to it as incoming freshman Angela Baron is part of the training camp roster for Colombia.
 
Colombia is serving as the host for the event that runs from July 7-30 and will be televised on FS1, FS2 and Fox Soccer Plus (check local listings). The matches will take place in Armenia, Bucaramanga and Cali as the tournament is also as South American qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2024 Olympic Games.
 
The top three teams will qualify for the 2023 Women's World Cup with two additional teams advancing to a play-off for a spot in the World Cup. Three teams will qualify for the 2023 Pan American games in Chile and the two teams that advance to the finals of the Copa America tournament will qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in France.

July 8 vs. Paraguay – 5:00pm PT on FS1
July 11 vs. Bolivia – 5:00pm PT on FS2
July 17 vs. Ecuador – 5:00pm PT on FS2
July 20 vs. Chile – 5:00pm PT on FS1
 
Baron played high school soccer at Keller High School in Texas and was a first team all-district honoree. She also has previous experience with the Colombian senior national team and was a starter at center back for the Colombian U20 National team earlier this year that qualified for the FIBA U20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica.
