SEATTLE – Washington put sixteen men and sixteen women on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, announced today. The award balances athletic achievement with cumulative grade point averages.
Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale is the academic standard that the 32 Huskies have met. The Huskies also earned both team awards for the men and women, for having a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
In competition, the athletes must have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event; or for the outdoor season they must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West.
Washington has gone from 20 honorees in 2020, to 30 last season, up to a program record 32 this year.
The honorees include several Huskies who earned All-America honors this season, including Brian Fay, Nathan Green, Luke Houser, Kieran Lumb, Anthony Smith, Ollie Thorner, Joe Waskom, Jayden White, Beatrice Asomaning, Makenna Barton, Taylor Chiotti, Victoria Gersch, Anna Gibson, Madison Heisterman, Haley Herberg, Allie Schadler, and Carley Thomas.
