Diana Ramos Selected to Cover U20 World Track and Field Championships as Student Journalist

CALI, Colombia – Arizona Track and Field team alumna Diana Ramos has been selected to cover the U20 World Track and Field Championships in Cali, Colombia as a student journalist.

Ramos leaves at the end of the week for the U20 World Track and Field Championships and will be in Cali covering the competition for World Athletics (International Amateur Athletics Federation – IAAF). The U20 World Athletics Championships run from Aug. 1 to Aug. 6 with a morning session and an evening session.

She also covered the World Senior Championships for the past ten days supported by Nike. Ramos finished her college career on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll as one of 28 Wildcats to earn the honor from the conference in the spring of 2022.

During the 2022 campaign, Ramos finished in the top five eight times while competing in the high jump. She ended the season with a fourth (1.71m) at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships, marking the highest finish of her career at the conference championship.

Ramos made five appearances in the high jump contest during the 2021 outdoor season, clearing a season-best of 1.73m at the Willie Williams Classic to finish fourth.

The alumna from Gautire Miran, Venezuela broke the Venezuelan indoor high jump record with a clearance of 1.71m (5-7.25) in 2021 at the Texas Tech Shootout.
