Arizona To Take On Indiana at Las Vegas Clash

Aug 23, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – On Dec. 10, the Arizona Wildcats will take on the Indiana Hoosiers at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas as part of the Las Vegas Clash, bdG Sports announced on Tuesday.

The game will start at 4:30 p.m. Pacific and will be televised on FOX. It will mark the first time a regular season college basketball game has been aired in prime time on the East Coast on a broadcast network.

"Playing a high-level opponent like Indiana in Las Vegas will be a great opportunity for us and our fans," said Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd. "It will be a strong test against one of the preseason favorites from the Big Ten in an outstanding atmosphere. It's one of those games that will have a special feeling around it and we are looking forward to it."

Arizona is 27-14 all-time in games played in the city of Las Vegas dating back to 1972 and have won six in a row. During the 2021-22 season, the Wildcats were 5-0 in Las Vegas, claiming wins over Wichita State and Michigan in November and then sweeping through Stanford, Colorado and UCLA to win the Pac-12 Tournament in March. Prior to that, the Wildcats defeated Washington on March 11, 2020 in the Pac-12 Tournament before the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly ended the season. Each of those six games were played at T-Mobile Arena.

The Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament was held at the MGM Grand from 2013-16 and the Wildcats were 7-3 in that span, winning the 2015 Pac-12 Tournament title. The last time Arizona played at the MGM Grand was March 11, 2016 against Oregon in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament.

UNLV will play Washington State at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 prior to the Arizona-Indiana game.
