USC's Croix Bethune Named Pac-12 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Oct 3, 2022

LOS ANGELES -- After helping the No. 20 USC women's soccer team to a 2-0 road trip in Oregon, the Trojans' Croix Bethune was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.

Bethune contributed directly to six of USC's nine goals over the two matches, powering the Trojans to a 5-1 win at Oregon State and a 4-0 victory at Oregon.

The senior attacker posted one goal and two assists in USC's win over the Beavers, and then followed that up with a brace and an assist in Eugene. Bethune leads the team in both goals and assists, and sits atop the Pac-12 with her seven helpers and sixth in the conference with her five goals. Her 17 total points are sixth in the league.

The 2-0 road trip helped move USC to 7-1-1 on the season and 3-0 in Pac-12 play. The Trojans are now unbeaten in their last eight matches and are tied atop the league table with UCLA.

Bethune is no stranger to accolades as she has already been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch list this season and is the reigning Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year. It is her first weekly award of the season and the fourth of her career.

The Trojans are back home this week, hosting Arizona on Thursday and Arizona State on Sunday. Both games will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. Check out the full schedule and purchase tickets here.
