USC's Boogie Ellis, Drew Peterson Named To Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference First Team

 USC guards Boogie Ellis and Drew Peterson have been named to the 2022-23 Pac-12 Men's Basketball preseason All-Conference team, it was announced today (Oct. 24).  It is the fourth consecutive season that the Trojans have had at least one player named to the preseason All-Conference team, joining Isaiah Mobley (2021-22), Evan Mobley (2020-21) and Nick Rakocevic (2019-20).

The senior Ellis is USC's top returning scorer as he averaged 12.5 points in the 2021-22 season and led the Trojans with 56 three-point baskets made.  Ellis also led the Trojans with 27 steals and was 10th among Pac-12 players with a 79.8 shooting percentage from the free throw line.  He was named honorable mention All-Conference during the regular season and was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament team, after averaging 22.0 points in USC's two conference tournament games.

The graduate student Peterson had a 12.4 scoring average and led the Trojans with 113 assists, while being one of two Trojans to start all 34 games during the 2021-22 season.  He was second on USC's with 49 three-pointers made and finished third in rebounds (211), steals (23) and blocks (27).  The versatile guard made 41.2 percent of his three-point shots which ranked fourth among Pac-12 players.  Peterson averaged 16.1 points per game during USC's final 10 games of the season and following the season was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference first team.

Ellis and Peterson along with USC head coach Andy Enfield will be at the Pac-12 Media Day held at the Pac-12 Studio in San Francisco, Calif. on Oct. 26.  The Pac-12 Network will provide live coverage of Media Day on its networks.
