6 Pac-12 Women's Tennis teams slated for 2023 NCAA Championship

SAN FRANCISCO – Six Pac-12 Women’s Tennis programs were selected to compete as a part of the 64-team field for the 2023 NCAA Championship. The league's regular season and tournament champion, STANFORD (21-2), was chosen to be the conference’s sole host for the opening rounds of the tournament.

The Cardinal picked up an overall No. 7 seed alongside hosting duties for the first two rounds. Joining Stanford at the Taube Tennis Center is Weber State, Denver and Oklahoma State with the Cardinal set begin their postseason run against the Weber State Wildcats. 

CALIFORNIA (12-9) is returning for its 40th postseason run, taking on a pod hosted by No. 8 Texas. The Golden Bears are set to begin the tournament against San Diego.

The pair of Southern California schools earned trips to the tournament with UCLA (13-7) bound for its 41st and USC (19-9) for its 37th. The Bruins head to North Carolina for a pod hosted by No. 6 Duke, with a first round matchup set against Texas Tech. USC will travel just a few miles north as they gear up for a pod hosted by No. 9 Pepperdine. The Trojans will go head-to-head with UNLV in their first round matchup. 

In only their 17th NCAA appearance, the WASHINGTON (17-8) Huskies will take on Arkansas in a pod hosted by No. 13 Oklahoma while ARIZONA STATE (17-6) will head to Knoxville to take on Wake Forest in a pod hosted by No. 15 Tennessee.

The first and second rounds of competition will take place on May 5-6, featuring four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each site advances to super regional competition May 12 or 13. Each super regional site will feature two teams playing a single-elimination format. The super regional winners advance to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. where the final eight teams will compete for the NCAA National Championship May 17-20.
