Federica Botter Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week, presented by Ready
Javelin thrower Federica Botter of the UCLA women's track & field team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for May 8-14.
The graduate thrower claimed the Pac-12 title in the women's javelin on Friday during the first day of the 2023 Pac-12 Track & Field Championships. Botter launched a javelin 57.81m (189-08) in the finals of the women's event, shattering her previous school record of 53.57m (175-09) by over four meters. The second-place javelin thrower was nearly four meters short of the top spot, giving Botter a dominant win in her event. Botter has now broken the outdoor school record four times in five meets during her first year with the Bruins.
This is Botter's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and of her career.
