What's New at Stanford Stadium for 2023

Sep 7, 2023

STANFORD, Calif. As Cardinal fans return to Stanford Stadium for the 2023 season, they can expect several changes to improve the fan experience.

BEER & WINE SALES
For the first time, beer and wine will be available for purchase at various locations inside Stanford Stadium. Fans will encounter dedicated beer and wine sales locations throughout the lower level concourse, as well as Level 1 of the Skybox. All fans should be prepared to show proper identification prior to purchase. Wristbands will be issued upon age verification at locations in and around Stanford Stadium, including Fan Fest, inside all main entry gates, bar locations, and more.

Alcohol sales will be cut off at the end of the third quarter. Outside alcohol is not permitted inside the stadium, and alcohol sold in-venue cannot leave Stanford Stadium.

The re-entry procedure will be modified with the introduction of beer and wine sales in-stadium. Fans will be permitted to exit and re-enter through Gates 4 and 12 only until the end of the third quarter. Tickets must be scanned out upon exit. Re-entry will continue to require security screening and a valid ticket scan.

MOBILE TICKETING ENHANCEMENTS
In an effort to provide a more user-friendly experience, Stanford Athletics has transitioned to a new ticketing provider, and fans can now purchase and manage their tickets at tickets.gostanford.com

In response to fan feedback, Stanford Athletics will offer a streamlined process for Season Ticket Members (STMs) to download their tickets as a season pass. STMs will only need to download one mobile wallet pass per seat, which will serve as their ticket for each game throughout the season. When added to a mobile wallet, the season ticket pass will display the event details for the first game of the season. It will automatically update to the next available game when used, transferred or resold on StubHub. No additional action is needed after the initial download.

New ticket scanners will be deployed at entry gates, and "Tap and Go" mobile tickets will be used for all ticketed athletic events on The Farm. Once added to a smartphone's mobile wallet, these tickets will display a "Hold Near Reader" animation in place of a QR code or barcode. Fans will simply open their ticket within their smartphone's mobile wallet and position their device in close proximity to the ticket scanner to validate their ticket(s) for entry.

Cardinal fans now have even more time to enjoy the fun before each game, as Fan Fest will now open three hours prior to kick-off. Fan Fest will remain at the hammer throw area at Cobb Track and Angell Field, steps away from Stanford Stadium, where fans will find rotating food trucks, a beer garden, and other food and beverage options. Fan Fest also offers a variety of programming throughout the season and other children and family-friendly activities.
ADA SHUTTLE SERVICE
For the first time, Stanford Athletics will offer an ADA shuttle service on game days in partnership with Dis-GO. Fans requiring assistance getting to Stanford Stadium will have the option to be picked up on motorized carts at select locations near Stanford Stadium by Dis-GO staff, with a primary Stadium drop-off location at Gate 4. After the game, carts will be lined up outside Gate 4 and transport guests to select drop-off locations. Stay tuned for more details on locations and how to access this service.

CASHLESS CONCESSIONS AND PARKING
To provide the safest and most convenient experience for fans, Stanford Stadium has gone cashless. Gameday parking transactions in general lots will be cashless, and all fixed concession stands inside the stadium have transitioned to cashless purchasing (Apple Pay or credit or debit card only). Fans can simply approach an ordering tablet, tap the items to purchase and pay with a smartphone or credit or debit card. Fans may use cash to purchase prepaid concessions cards at a table on the concourse behind Section 101, while Cardinal Dollars can be purchased at sections 103, 113, 125 and 133. Additionally, 'Between Play' grab-and-go stations (now featuring Dippin' Dots!) will be located throughout the concourses, while fans can now enjoy Rita's Italian Ice outside sections 103 and 118.
BUCK/CARDINAL CLUB HOSPITALITY AREA
The Buck/Cardinal Club is excited to continue hosting its in-stadium hospitality space, located in the outer concourse at the north end of Stanford Stadium, for all football Priority Seat Members and Buck/Cardinal Club donors at the $1,000 giving level or above. Complimentary beverages, including beer and wine, and snacks will be provided.

CLEAR BAG AND ENTRY POLICIES
In an ongoing effort to improve fan safety, Stanford Athletics is  implementing a revised Clear Bag Policy for all athletic events beginning in September 2023.

This policy limits the size and types of bags that are permitted inside athletic venues. It is not a restriction on many of the items that fans have brought into the stadium in the past, but it will enhance safety at Stanford events as a clear bag is easily and quickly searched.

Unapproved bags will not be permitted inside any Stanford athletic venue. Fans with unapproved bags will be asked to return their bags to their vehicle, check them (available for football games near Cagan Stadium or between Gates 9 & 10), or transfer their belongings to an approved clear plastic bag before entering the venue.
