WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Zeth Romney, RS Fr., Cal Poly (133 lbs., Simi Valley, Calif.)

• Placed third at 133 pounds at the prestigious Ken Kraft Midlands Championships on Saturday, earning the 2nd highest individual finish in program history at the tournament and the best since Boris Novachkov won the 141-pound title in 2010. 
• Posted a 5-1 overall record and upset 3 nationally ranked wrestlers, defeating No. 5 Sam Latona in the quarterfinals by a 3-2 decision, No. 27 Mason Leiphart in the consolation semifinals by a 10-1 major decision and No. 8 Michael Colaiocco in the 3rd place match by a 16-3 major decision. 
• 1 of 3 wrestlers that placed for Cal Poly, a program record at the event
• Romney's performance allowed Cal Poly to place 13th as a team, the 2nd highest finish in program history at the Midlands Championships
• Improves to 12-5 overall on the season with 5 wins over ranked opponents
• Moved from No. 31 to No. 10 in his weight class in national rankings, the highest ranked Pac-12 wrestler at that weight
• Becomes just the 3rd Cal Poly wrestler to achieve this honor.  Bernie Truax won in December of last season while Evan Wick won in December 2021
