Four Beavers Dot 2024 MLB Opening Day Rosters

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Former Oregon State outfielders Michael Conforto and Steven Kwan, infielder Nick Madrigal and catcher Adley Rutschman are on 2024 MLB Opening Day rosters.
 
Conforto, who played for Oregon State from 2012-14, is entering his ninth season at the game's highest level. He is in his second season with San Francisco after seven years in New York with the Mets. He's a career .253 batter with 155 doubles, four triples and 147 home runs in 882 games.
 
Kwan is in his third season with Cleveland, and has played in 305 career games at the MLB level. He's hitting .282 with 61 doubles, 14 triples, 11 home runs and 40 stolen bases. He swiped 21 last season. Kwan played for OSU from 2016-18.
 
Madrigal is entering his third season with the National's League's Chicago Cubs and fifth overall. He's hitting .280 over 234 career games, and has 36 doubles, five triples with four home runs and 16 stolen bases. Madrigal was teammates with Kwan at OSU from 2016-18.
 
Rutschman has played in 267 career games with Baltimore after starring with Oregon State from 2017-19, winning the Golden Spikes Award in his final year. The backstop has 66 doubles, two triples and 33 home runs with 122 runs batted in over his two seasons at the MLB level.
 
The Beavers also have two former pitchers who are the long-term Injured List to open the year, righty Drew Rasmussen with the Tampa Bay Rays and lefty Matt Boyd with the Detroit Tigers.
