Soccer Signs Lithuanian National Team Defender

EUGENE, Ore. – Karolina Jasaityte, a defender on the Lithuanian National Team, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Oregon soccer program, head coach Graeme Abel announced Friday. She will join the five fall signees who will be part of the freshman class for the upcoming season.
 
From the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius, Jasaityte was named the best young player in Lithuania in 2022. She has played on her country's junior and senior national teams for the last five years and was team captain for the U-16, U-17 and U-19 Lithuanian sides.
 
Jasaityte joins a freshman class that includes Springfield, Ore., native and Marist High School product Cloe Chase, Kailee Chavez (Makakilo, Hawaii), Carly Cormack (Honolulu, Hawaii), Ariane Haysman Boaler (London, England) and Taylor Person (Frisco, Texas).

A member of the Lithuanian National Team who has been representing her country in both junior and senior tournaments since she was 14. Was named the best young player in Lithuania in 2022. Prior to the Senior National Team, played on Lithuania's U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19 teams. Was the captain of the U-16, U-17 and U-19 teams. While with the MFA Zalgiris club team, was twice named the best defender in the elite league (2021, 2022) and the best defender of the First league (2020, 2021). MFA won both the elite league and the First league in 2021 and 2022.
