- Tossed 5 innings in relief and earned the win to help Cal complete the sweep over #5 Oregon State
- Surrendered just 1 hit and 2 runs, striking out 8 on the day
- After allowing a home run to Dallas Macias in the 6th inning, Newmann went into lockdown mode. Only allowed 1 base runner to reach over the final 3.1 innings, during that stretch he struck out 6, including the side in the 9th to end the game
- Right-handed hitters were 0-for-9 against him, and lefties were just 1-for-6
- 3rd time this season and 2nd straight week that 1 school has swept both awards. Oregon State swept both of the previous times this season (Feb. 26, April 8)
- 1st Cal pitcher to win this award since Joseph King in March 2022
