The Pac-12 announced today the 2024 Pac-12 women’s lacrosse postseason honors, including yearly award recipients and all-conference teams, as voted on by the league’s coaches. USC’s Ella Heaney was selected as Attacker of the Year, while Oregon’s Morgan McCarthy earned Midfielder of the Year honors. Regular-season champion Stanford won the rest of the yearly awards, with Madison McPherson named the Defensive Player of the Year, Annabel Frist voted the Draw Specialist of the Year, Aliya Polisky tabbed the Freshman of the Year, Lucy Pearson named the Goalkeeper of the Year and Danielle Spencer selected as the Coach of the Year.

PAC-12 ATTACKER OF THE YEAR: Ella Heaney, Gr., A, USC (Garden City, N.Y.)
Heaney paces the Trojans with 43 goals and ranks second on the team with 25 assists this season, both of which are top-four in the Pac-12. Heaney has eight hat tricks on the year, including a pair of six-goal games against Army (Feb. 9) and UC Davis (March 16). The attacker ranks fourth all-time in Trojan history in goals (141), third in points (224), and second in assists (83). Heaney is the first-ever Pac-12 Attacker of the Year for USC.

PAC-12 MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR: Morgan McCarthy, Sr., M, Oregon (Pawling, N.Y.)
McCarthy becomes Oregon’s first individual award winner since 2019 when Rachel Hall was tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. McCarthy’s 42 goals ranks tied-for-fifth in the league, and are tied for the seventh-most goals in a season in Duck history. The midfielder has nine hat tricks this season, including three games with five-or-more goals. McCarthy was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 27 after scoring five goals and adding two assists in the 16-9 win over Marist.

PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Madison McPherson, Gr., D, Stanford (Baltimore, Md.)
In her first season with the Cardinal, McPherson started all 15 games for regular-season champion Stanford. The defender tallied 39 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers in 2024, both of which rank second in the Pac-12. McPherson led a Cardinal defense that allowed a league-leading 8.39 goals per game, which is also the 10th-best nationally. The Baltimore product is the first-ever Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year for Stanford.

PAC-12 DRAW SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR: Annabel Frist, Jr., M, Stanford (Nashville, Tenn.)
Frist is a two-time Pac-12 Draw Specialist of the Year after earning the league’s inaugural award a season ago. The midfielder has the second-most draw controls in the Pac-12 at 126, and is averaging a Conference-leading 10.50 draw controls per game which is the fourth-best mark in NCAA DI. With 318 career draw controls, Frist is tied for the most in Pac-12 history with former Cardinal Genesis Lucero.

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: Aliya Polisky, R-Fr., A, Stanford (Franklin, Tenn.)
Polisky started 13 games for the Cardinal, leading the team with 43 goals and 59 points, both of which rank top-five in the Pac-12. The attacker earned back-to-back Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors on March 12 and 19, the latter of which she won after scoring a season-high seven goals against then-No. 19 Colorado. Polisky becomes the third Cardinal to earn Freshman of the Year recognition after Ali Baiocco (2018) and Ashley Humphrey (2022).

PAC-12 GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR: Lucy Pearson, So., GK, Stanford (Philadelphia, Pa.)
The league leader in save percentage (.474) and goals-against average (8.86), Pearson started all 15 games for the Cardinal and posted a .733 win percentage. Pearson led a Stanford unit that paced the league with a .909 clearing percentage. The sophomore was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 27 after conceding just seven goals across two contests and leading the Cardinal to a pair of non-conference wins. Pearson becomes the third Stanford goalie to earn this award after Kara Rahaim was Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022 and Co-Goalkeeper of the Year this past season.

PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR: Danielle Spencer, Stanford
This is Spencer’s first career Pac-12 Coach of the Year honor after leading regular-season champion Stanford to an 11-4 record, including an undefeated Pac-12 campaign. Under Spencer’s tutelage, the Cardinal placed six players on All-Conference teams this year, including four individual awards. This season Stanford led the league and ranked 10th in NCAA DI in scoring defense, allowing just 8.39 goals per game, and its scoring offense of 15.27 goals per game ranked 15th nationally.
