Martin, Rinn to Run at Oregon Twilight Friday Night

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team will send Kyla Martin and Bri Rinn to PNW this Friday to compete in the 1500m at the Oregon Twilight inside Hayward Field – host of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

ON THE STARTING BLOCK
With just one week before heading to Boulder for the final pac-12 Outdoor Championships, the Women of Utah will send a pair of runners in Kyla Martin and Bri Rinn to the Oregon Twilight in hopes of producing a solid qualifying time for the NCAA West Regionals. Rinn currently sits at No. 54 among those in the west with her time of 4:20.56 while Martin is at No. 62 with a mark of 4:21.09 – both season-best marks were set at the Bryan Clay Invitational back on April 11.
 
The pair will compete in the 1500m race – which is slated to begin at 9:14 p.m. (MDT) / 8:14 p.m. (PDT) on RunnerSpace+.
 
ROAD TO PARIS
Josefine Eriksen and former Ute Dinedye Denis will both head to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas this weekend to compete for their respective countries at the World Athletics Relays (May 4-5) inside Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium located in Nassau as they look to qualify for the Summer Olympics in Paris.
 
Eriksen will compete for her native country of Norway as a member of the 4x400m relay team while Denis will compete as a member of the Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) national team in the 4x100m relay.
 
UP NEXT
The Women of Utah will compete in the final iteration of the Pac-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships next weekend in Boulder at Potts Field hosted by the University of Colorado May 10-12. It will be the last opportunity for runners to produce a qualifying time in their respective events for the NCAA West Regionals – which returns to Fayetteville, Ark., May 23 & 25.
