Washington Football Announces August Fan Engagement Opportunities

Aug 5, 2021

UPDATED -- Practice on Fri., Aug. 13, at Seattle's Memorial Stadium, has been added!

University of Washington football program, which opens Fall Camp on Friday, has announced several upcoming fan engagement opportunities to welcome the greatest fans back to The Greatest Setting. The month of August will be highlighted with The Return: Fan Fest & Scrimmage event inside Husky Stadium on August. 21. Additionally, four practices will be open to the public and the Dawgs will host a Season Ticket Holder and Football Alumni only event on the evening of August 25. Full details, including RSVP links for each opportunity can be found below.

The day will feature several family-friendly activities on the East Practice Field, including food trucks, inflatables, live performances from the Husky Band, a chance to participate in the Dawg Walk and much more. Following the festivities, fans are encouraged to head over to Husky Stadium to watch the team participate in a scrimmage from 1-3 PM. Concessions will be available inside Husky Stadium for the scrimmage, and 2021 Husky Football season ticket holders who RSVP to attend will be sent vouchers for complementary popcorn and soda. The event will take the place of Raise The Woof and Picture Day, two long-time events that will be postponed until 2022 due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19. Back by popular demand after last April's event that featured updates from Director of Athletics Jen Cohen and Damon Huard, the athletic department is planning to host another hour-long session to take questions from fans. Cohen and Huard will provide updates related to the department and college athletics, but because what is most important to our fans is what matters to us, we would love to hear what is on the minds of our season ticket holders. Questions for the virtual happy can be submitted HERE. Additional details and RSVP links will be sent out later in August.

Parking
Fans arriving by car should park in E18 lot (click for map), north of Husky Stadium (the former E1 lot) and can pay via the pay by phone ahead of time using the following link: Pay-by-Phone for Parking. Those with ADA parking permits should utilize lot E17. Additional parking options for the Aug. 21 scrimmage include E12, E19, E20, E8 & E18. Cost for parking will be $7.

Montlake Bridge Closure
Fans driving to Husky Stadium, please note: Starting Monday, August 9, the Montlake Bridge repair project will begin. This project will require two phases of closures — a 26-day continuous around-the-clock closure through September 3 to general traffic (excluding pedestrians, bicycles, and first responder vehicles) and then an additional five weekends of closure to all traffic (vehicle, bike, pedestrian) in the fall. Click HERE for more information

Additional Info
Fans should enter Husky Stadium through the Southwest entrance of the stadium. Concessions will not be available for the open practices; they will only be operating for The Return: Fan Fest & Scrimmage on Aug. 21 and cash will not be accepted. Fans are permitted to bring water into the stadium for the open practices.

All fans must follow the UW's COVID-19 policies while on campus. As always, all events and policies are subject to change. Updates will be shared should there be any changes to any of the above schedules.
