Oregon

This is probably the only school in the universe you could do a list like this with, but here are the top-25 Oregon football uniforms of all time. Ducks fans knew this guy was going to be special ever since he ran for 643 yards and 10 touchdowns in a high school game, and so far, Thomas Tyner’s great expectations have led to a promising first half. Dude has 261 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 47 carries (5.6 per carry); not too shabby for a rook.

USC

So Ray Lewis gave the USC football team a motivational speech (remember when Lewis talked to the Stanford men’s basketball team?), and there are some mighty fine lines in it. The Trojans will be pissed off for greatness when they take on Notre Dame Saturday night, and it should help that Marqise Lee says he’ll be ready to play against the Irish. You’d probably find Will Ferrell’s impersonation of Ed Orgeron hilarious as well. And, since today is Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Media Day, how about Andy Enfield saying that if you want to play slow, go to UCLA? It was said to his team during practice – not a game, not a press conference; practice. So it wasn’t really a jab at the Bruins, but an interesting quote nonetheless.

Stanford

As expected, Condoleezza Rice was among the 13 named to the College Football Playoff selection committee, along with USC AD Pat Haden, Tyrone Willingham and Oliver Luck among others. And it looks like the committee’s selection criteria will be flexible. Also, what’s ailing the Stanford offense? Ted Miller has some ideas.

UCLA

We’ll find out just how good the Bruins are over the course of these next two weeks, but of course, one foot in front of the other. That’s why UCLA is only thinking about Stanford, and the Bruins are looking for a mistake-free performance against the Card.

Arizona

This is certainly good to hear: Arizona baseball coach Andy Lopez is recovering well from heart surgery. He had quadruple bypass surgery on Oct. 7.

Arizona State

Arizona State is set to turn De’Marieya Nelson loose as a two-way player, making him the first such two-way dude for the Forks since J.R. Redmond in 1999. And we’ll find out the actual preseason men’s hoops poll later this morning, but Doug Haller is picking the Sun Devils to finish sixth in the Pac-12.

California

While men’s basketball has its time in the sun today, women’s basketball will get its shine on next Thursday. To whet your appetite for that, here’s a recap of the Cal women’s basketball tip-off event last Sunday, courtesy of our friends at California Golden Blogs.

Colorado

Colorado men’s hoops is on the cusp of something special in Boulder in large thanks to head coach Tad Boyle. He wants his boys to really dig in on the defensive end, and Boyle prefers taking charges to blocking shots, even if blocks draw more wows from the crowd.

Oregon State

Brandin Cooks is receiving most of the media attention, but Kevin Cummings is coming up clutch for the Beavers. He’s coming off the best performance of his collegiate career, hauling in six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Washington

It’s the fact that Christian Caple (welcome to the UW beat, btw) notes how Will Shamburger takes notes during team meetings that makes this Huskies safety having a noteworthy season such a noteworthy headline.

Washington State

Cougs fans would love to find out the obvious reason why Washington State will beat Oregon: You just don’t play the Cougars on Fox Sports 1 and expect to come out with a victory.

Utah

Utah is looking good after knocking off the No. 5 team in the country, but the Utes' kickoffs still need work.

And here are Sports Illustrated’s midseason All-America teams, headlined by Marcus Mariota and Anthony Barr (plenty of other Pac-12ers on it as well).
