Oregon football legend Kenny Wheaton rocks Duck Block Party

Dec 31, 2014

Ducks by the thousands packed Santa Monica Place on Wednesday and roared for a very familiar face.

Ask most any Oregon fan, and they'll tell you that Kenny Wheaton is a living legend. His 1994 interception return for a touchdown against Washington is credited by many as being a turning point in Oregon football, when the fledgling program began to turn the corner from dismal to dominant.

"The Pick" led Oregon to the 1995 Rose Bowl (where it lost to Kerry Collins' Penn State squad). Twenty years later, Kenny is still a dear cornerback-emeritus of the Ducks. He's also a distinguished philanthropist in the Eugene community— part of the reason his legacy is more than just a play.
