Colorado's Bey powers way to final Pac-12 Men's Basketball weekly honor

Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week (3/11/19) - Tyler Bey, So., G/F, COLORADO

SAN FRANCISCO - Colorado sophomore guard/forward Tyler Bey earns the first Pac-12 Player of the Week award of his career as voted on by media who cover the league.

• Bey recorded back-to-back double-doubles to extend his streak to five and season total to a league-high tying 14 to lead Colorado to victories over UCLA (93-68) and USC (78-67) and finish in a tie for fourth place in the Pac-12 standings at 10-8. His five consecutive double-doubles is the longest streak for a Colorado player since 1990-91.

• The sophomore from Las Vegas averaged 22.0 points on 61 percent shooting (20-33 FG), 12.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks for the week.

• Bey, who was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team earlier Monday, tied his career-high with 27 points on 13-of-20 shooting along with 13 rebounds in a rout which completed a season sweep of the Bruins, then added 17 points and 11 boards in the win over the Trojans.

• Colorado (19-11, 10-8) is the No. 5 seed for the Pac-12 Tournament and will open play at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas against No. 12 California on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Network).
