Jordan, Ford Earn Pac-12 Players of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Utah Football program was honored for the third week in a row by earning Pac-12 Player of the Week awards with Ty Jordan being named freshman of the week and Nick Ford earning offensive lineman of the week.

Jordan, who has earned freshman of the week honors for three straight weeks, recorded his third-straight 100-yard rushing game in Utah's comeback victory against Washington State. He finished the game with 22 carries for 154 yards (7.0 ypc) and three rushing touchdowns, adding two catches for 33 yards (187 all-purpose yards).

Jordan got Utah's comeback in motion with his first touchdown of the game, recording 106 of his 154 rushing yards in the second half. He got things started with his five-yard rushing touchdown with 6:09 remaining in the third quarter to make the score 28-14, starting Utah's 38-point scoring run.

He followed it up with a career-long 27-yard catch on a third-and-nine to the WSU 42-yard line, scoring just a few plays later on a 33-yard rush to tie the game 28-28. It would be his third touchdown of the game that would officially give the Utes the lead, punching in a 13-yard rush to give Utah a 35-28 advantage with 6:29 remaining in the game.

Ford, who started all five games this season on the offensive line, was integral in helping lead Utah's offense to a season-high 528 total yards of offense. The Utes finished the game with 223 rushing yards (6.0 ypc) and four rushing touchdowns.

Ford has started at both left tackle and center this season, with Utah's game against Washington State being his fourth-straight start at center. For has always been a steadying influence on the Utah offensive line that played with its third different starting lineup in five games, performing at an incredibly high level in Utah's 45-28 victory.
