Isaiah Jewett was named Men's Track Athlete of the Year, TeeTee Terry was named Women's Track Athlete of the Year and Caryl Smith Gilbert was named Women's Coach of the Year by the Pac-12, it was announced by the Conference today (May 19).

Both of the athletes and USC's Director of Track & Field were instrumental in the women's team winning its third consecutive Pac-12 title over the weekend, while the men's team placed second.  Heading into the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, both the USC men's and women's teams are currently ranked No. 3 nationally.

Jewett, from Los Angeles, won his second consecutive Pac-12 men's 800m title with a PR and meet-record time of 1:45.16.  His time bettered his NCAA-leading time and moved him to second on USC's all-time list, passing Duane Solomon and trailing only Ibrahim Okash who had a time of 1:44.92 in 1988.  It was also just 0.04 seconds off the meet record of 1:45.12 set by Joaquim Cruz in 1984. Jewett became the first Trojan to win the event in back-to-back Pac-12 meets.  Jewett also anchored USC's men's 4x400m relay team which won the title with a time of 3:05.29.

Terry, from Miami, Fla., won her third consecutive Pac-12 100m sprint title with a Loker Stadium record-time of 11.10 (+1.1).  In the prelims, Terry had a wind-aided time of 11.02 (+2.6w) which ranks tied for second in the country.  Terry also won the Pac-12 title in the 200m dash with a personal-best time of 22.72 (+1.4) which ranks sixth on the NCAA descending order list.  Terry also anchored USC's 4x100m relay which posted a time of 42.99.  Terry accounted for 22 points during the meet and earned Co-Women's Athlete of the Meet.

Terry also anchors USC's 4x100m relay which ranks second in the country with a time of 42.63 and fourth on USC's all-time list.  Terry has run on all of USC's top five 4x100m relays.  She also owns the USC record in the 100m dash at 10.98 and ranks ninth on USC's all-time outdoor 200m dash list with her time of 22.72.

Smith Gilbert is in her eighth season as the Director of Track & Field at USC.  She guided the USC women's team to its third consecutive Pac-12 team title and the men's team to an impressive second-place finish.  USC athletes combined to win 15 Pac-12 titles and in her seven Pac-12 Championships have won 75 individual titles.  Currently she has the men's and women's teams ranked No. 3 by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross County Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Smith Gilbert won her third consecutive Pac-12 Women's Coach of the Year award and this year's women's team total of 162.5 points are the program's third most in Pac-12 Championship history.   The Conference award is the fifth of Smith Gilbert's career, as she was voted both men's and women's Coach of the Year in 2015. The USC women's team has spent the entire season in the top five nationally.
