Chase Garbers Accepts NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Invite

Chase Garbers has accepted an invitation to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 29 at The Rose Bowl.

PASADENA, CA – The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl announced Tuesday that former Cal quarterback Chase Garbers has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2022 edition of the game to be televised live from The Rose Bowl by NFL Network at a time yet to be announced on Saturday, Jan. 29. The event began in 2012 and was played for nine consecutive years before the 2021 experience was virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

— Earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors from the league's coaches and Pro Football Focus, as well as Cal's Offensive Most Valuable Player honors
— Started all 11 games he played in of a total of 12 as a 2021 redshirt senior and completed 223-of-348 passes (64.1%) for 2533 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a 135.8 passer rating with his games started, completions, pass attempts, completion percentage, passing yards and touchdown passes all career highs
— Ranked among Pac-12 leaders in 2021 in per-game total offense (2nd, 271.7 ypg), completions (3rd, 20.27 cpg) and passing yards (4th, 230.3 ypg), as well as total plays (2nd, 452), with all numbers career highs
— Played in 36 career games with 34 starts and posted a 19-15 record as Cal's starting quarterback as well as a 19-11 mark in games in which he played at least a half
— Completed 589-of-959 career passes (62.4%) for 6582 yards with 50 touchdowns and 24 interceptions for a 132.2 passer rating, and is among Cal's all-time leaders in total offense (7756, 4th), touchdown passes (T6th), passer efficiency (7th), passing yards (7th), 300-plus yard passing games (4, T7th) and 250-yard passing games (9, T9th)
— Cal's all-time leader for both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns for a quarterback with 1174 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground on 331 carries
— Spent five seasons at Cal before declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft on Dec. 14, 2021
