Seven Named All-MPSF

STANFORD, Calif. -- The first All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation fencing team features two Cardinal on the first team. 

Haley Koo and Lucas Orts each won the foil competitions at the MPSF championships on Sunday at University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Fencers were seeded into the top four among the MPSF schools (Stanford, Air Force, Incarnate Word, UC San Diego) and then competed in semifinals and finals.

Koo edged UCSD's Rafaella Gomes, 15-14, in the women's foil final. Koo is 47-12 overall (.797 winning percentage). 

Orts beat Nestor Levin of Air Force in the men's foil final, 15-2. Orts is 46-14 this season (.767).

Five Cardinal earned second-team honors: Aidan Kung and Noah Matricciani for the men, and Charlotte He, Hanna Lee, and Sofia Raso for the women.
