Cougs Headed to Hayward Field for Three-Day Pac-12 Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. -  Washington State men's and women's track and field teams will see its top runners, jumpers, and throwers compete in Eugene this weekend at the 2022 Pac-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field on Friday through Sunday.  This week's 91st edition of the men's and 35th women's Pac-12 conference championship meet, hosted at the site of last year's and the next five ensuing NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks beginning with field events at varied times each day.

Micaela De Mello (13.08 - 100m hurdle), Aislinn Overby (1.82m - high jump) and Valentina Barrios-Bornacelli (51.45m - javelin) each rank in the top three in the Pac-12 headed into the weekend on the women's side while Colton Johnsen (3000m steeplechase - 8:39.38) and Jacob Englar (pole vault - 5.32m) each topped the men's conference rankings in their respective events their last time out.

COUGARS TO WATCH FOR - WOMEN
- WSU women's track & field heads into the tail end of the 2022 outdoor season with nine Pac-12 top-ten times.
- Micaela De Mello (13.08 - 100m hurdle), Aislinn Overby (1.82m - high jump) and Valentina Barrios-Bornacelli (51.45m - javelin) each rank in the top-25 in the nation in their respective events.

COUGARS TO WATCH FOR - MEN
Colton Johnsen (3000m steeplechase - 8:39.38) and Jacob Englar (pole vault - 5.32m) each topped the individual Pac-12 rankings in their final outings prior to this week's conference meet.
Johnsen is a two-time indoor All-American and will hope to secure the first WSU men's individual title in the 3000m steeplechase since Josephat Kapkory in 1994.
Englar's 5.32m mark in the pole vault at the Fresno State Invitational was a personal best for the senior from Idaho and the 34th-best in the nation.
