Golfers Head to Hawaii

The Ducks will travel to Hawaii for the second of their back-to-back tournaments to open the 2023 spring season. Five of the nation's top seven teams are among the field at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate, which runs Wednesday-Friday at Hapuna Golf Course.

FROM THE FAIRWAY
• Ranked 33rd nationally, Owen Avrit has four top-eight finishes in five tournaments this season. He posted his second career win - his first as a Duck - with a T1 at the Cal Poly Invitational to close out the fall. For his efforts, he was named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month for November. He opened the spring season with a tie for fifth at the Southwestern Invitational.
• The Ducks opened the spring by tying for fourth at the Southwestern Invitational. Owen Avrit led the squad with a fifth-place finish, while Greg Solhaug posted his third-straight top-20 finish (T19).
• Oregon tied for ninth at the Ben Hogan Invitational (Oct. 3-4) , a tournament that featured seven of the nation's top 10 teams. Greg Solhaug's T15 led the Ducks.
• Oregon had a fourth-place finish at the Sept. 19-20 Husky Invitational. Oven Avrit led the team with his second-straight top-eight finish of the season. The Ducks also had a strong performance from Nate Stember, who tied for 11th. Freshman Aiden Krafft also recorded a top-20 finish for the Ducks.
• The Ducks had some terrific individual performances in the season-opening Maui Jim Intercollegiate. Greyson Leach tied for fifth at 12-under 198. His score included a career-low 65 in the second round. Owen Avrit tied for eighth at 11-under 199. He opened the tournament with a career-best 63 that was one shot off the Ducks' school record.
