FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – For the first time since 2021, the CALIFORNIA Golden Bears took home the Pac-12 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship title. The Bears collected 1397.5 points en route to their sixth championship in Conference history, with all six coming in the last 15 years. 

Head Coach Dave Durden and the Golden Bears saw a combined five event titles and 15 total podium finishes on the week, highlighted by sweeps of the backstroke and butterfly events and a win in the 200 medley relay. 

For the second straight year, USC finished as the runner-up with 1,291 points followed by Stanford in third after the Cardinal concluded the week eight points behind the Trojans. 

1650 Free

• Defending Pac-12 Champion Aurora Roghair was crowned the 1650 Free champion for the second year in a row. 
• Shaving 16 seconds off her 2023 Championship time, the junior touched first with the third-fastest time in the country this season and a match of her personal record (15:52.83).
• A pair of Sun Devil swimmers, Deniz Ertan (15:53.23) and Alexa Reyna (16:07.25), saw their first-ever Pac-12 Championship podium finishes.

200 Back:

• For the third time in her career California’s Isabelle Stadden walked away as the 200 Back Champion.
• Swimming a 1:50.16, the senior is just the second student-athlete to win three 200 back titles and the first to do it since 1994 (Lea Loveless, STAN).
• In her first individual podium finish and fourth of the Championship, Stanford sophomore Natalie Mannion took second with a time of 1:52.47.
• In her first career Pac-12 podium finish, UCLA’s Rosie Murphy set a new Bruin program record, blazing past a record she set just one month ago. The sophomore swam a 1:53.13 to finish third. 

100 Free:

• Freshman Trojan Minna Abraham closed out her individual Pac-12 competition with her second short distance freestyle win. The 17-year old set a new personal record in the 100 free, swimming her way to a 47.69 first-place finish.
• Reaching the podium in second and third place was USC graduate Vasilissa Buinaia (47.72) and California graduate Eloise Riley (48.09) with Buinaia climbing into the Trojans’ top-10.

200 Breast:

• Trojan Kaitlyn Dobler earned her seventh career breaststroke crown, third 200 breast win and fifth podium finish of the Championship after swimming the third-fastest time in Trojan history (1:06.58). The senior walked away with a sweep of the breaststroke events.
• After sweeping the individual medley events earlier in the week, Cardinal Caroline Bricker closed out her first Pac-12 Championship with a runner-up finish in the 200 breast (2:07.20).
• Washington State's Emily Lundgren swam her way to her second consecutive third-place finish in the 200 breast with a new WSU program record time of 2:07.44. 

200 Fly:

• California graduate student Rachel Klinker topped the 200 Fly podium after swimming a 1:51.74 winning time. 
• Three years in the making, Klinker took home the second-fastest time in Cal history, the fifth-fastest time this season and her second 200 Fly title (2021).
• Breaking her own school record was Lindsay Looney, who came in a close second with her third podium finish of the Championship, swimming a 1:52.14 to secure second place.
• With her second butterfly podium finish of the week, Stanford’s Lillie Nordmann walked away with third place (1:52.38).

Women’s Platform:

• Nike Agunbiade became the first Trojan to win back-to-back platform titles after scoring a 353.60 to close out the women’s diving event. The graduate is now a 3-time Pac-12 Champion.
• UCLA’s Eden Cheng earned her highest Pac-12 Championship finish with a score 323.75 for a second-place finish.
• Rounding out the 2024 Women’s Diving Championship was USC freshman Lilia Castanon in third place after tallying 286.35 points.

400 Free Relay:

• In their third and final relay win of the Championships, Vasilissa Buinia, Anicka Delgado, Claire Tuggle and Minna Abraham topped the podium of the 400 Freestyle relay.
• The Trojan quad brought home the second win in program history and are only the fifth program to take first. 
• Just milliseconds behind USC was Stanford’s Anna Shaw, Lillie Nordmann, Gigi Johnson and Amy Tang who finished second in 3:11.11 on the clock. 
• Cal’s Eloise Riley, Leah Polonsky, Isabelle Stadden and Mia Motekaitis capped off the 2024 Championships with a third-place finish in 3:12.27.
