Hamilton Named Second-Team All-American

Rowan Hamilton posted a mark of 21.52m (70-7.25) at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

 BOSTON – California track & field senior Rowan Hamilton kicked off competition for the Golden Bears on Thursday at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing 12th in the men's weight throw to earn Second-Team All-America status.
 
Hamilton was the first men's weight thrower in program history to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships and is Cal's highest finisher among all male throwers since 2019. His best mark came in his first attempt, which sailed 21.52m (70-7.25); he followed that up with a throw of 20.25m (66-5.25) and a foul to close out the competition.
 
He will next turn his attention to the outdoor season and his premier event, the hammer throw, in which he ranks 14th all time among collegiate throwers and has a personal best of 76.80m (252-0).
