Team USA uniforms for the Closing Ceremony made with the environment in mind
When the 130 Pac-12 athletes representing Team USA at the Olympic Games in Tokyo walk in the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, their wardrobe will have a sustainable twist. The outfits are made with REPREVE, a performance fiber made from recycled materials, including plastic bottles. REPREVE recycled fibers are a product of Unifi, a proud partner of the Pac-12 and founding sustainability partner of Pac-12 Team Green.
Through August 5, past, present and future students and current coaches in the Pac-12 have accounted for or helped Team USA win 23 of its 91 medals at the Summer Games. The Pac-12 has more athletes on the U.S. Olympic Team than any other conference and makes up 20 percent of the Team USA roster.
We're so excited to announce that REPREVE fibers are featured in the @RalphLauren U.S. #summerolympic uniforms! Here's to this year's sport's wins, and huge sustainability scores for our planet! https://t.co/L44jqL57rd
