Merlin Robertson led the Sun Devils in total tackles (77), tackles for loss (8.5 – 41 yards), sacks (5 – 32 yards) to collect Pac-12 Football Freshman Defensive Player of the Year accolades. After a big game against then-No. 15 Michigan State, he was named Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8.
