Schedule | Standings | Pac-12 Statistics | NCAA Statistics | NCAA RPIPac-12 Record Book

THIS WEEK

  • With the regular season winding down, Pac-12 women's volleyball is set for its final two weeks of matches with this week’s calendar featuring a dozen contests. Conference teams will be in action Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20 in week 13.
  • After extending its winning streak to 14 last weekend, No. 8 Stanford (20-4, 15-1) will finish out the regular season with a four-game homestand beginning this week as the Cardinal host Arizona State (11-17, 5-11) on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Bay Area) and Arizona (14-13, 4-12) on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Los Angeles).
  • No. 12 Oregon (19-5, 13-3), riding a nine-match winning streak of its own and trailing the Cardinal by two games in the standings, will also be home for its final four contests, where the Ducks are a perfect 9-0 this season. Oregon will put that undefeated home record on the line starting this weekend against UCLA (14-11, 8-8) on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Oregon) and a big showdown with third-place USC (19-8, 11-5) on Sunday at 12 p.m. PT live on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Los Angeles.
  • Before their Sunday matchup with the Ducks, the Trojans will visit Oregon State (7-19, 2-14) on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. (Pac-12 Insider).
  • No. 21 Washington (18-8, 10-6) will welcome Colorado (17-9, 9-7) and Utah (15-12, 8-8) to Alaska Airlines Arena, facing the Buffs on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Washington) and the Utes on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 12 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Washington).
  • No. 25 Washington State, who is tied for third place with the Trojans, will take on the mountain schools in reverse order, playing Utah on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Mountain) before wrapping up the weekend against Colorado on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 12 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Mountain).
  • Other broadcasts this weekend include Arizona State at California (7-19, 0-16) on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 12 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Arizona, Pac-12 Bay Area) and UCLA at Oregon State on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 12 p.m. PT (Pac-12 Oregon).

TITLE-CLINCHING SCENARIOS

  • With four regular season matches remaining, first-place Stanford holds a two-game lead and controls its own destiny over the final two weekends. There are three scenarios in play this upcoming weekend for the Cardinal to clinch a share and/or outright:
    • If Stanford wins both and Oregon loses both, Stanford would be outright champions (up 4 with 2 to play).
    • If Stanford wins its next match and Oregon loses its next match, Stanford would clinch a share of the title (up 3 with 3 to play).
    • If Stanford wins both and Oregon loses one of its matches this weekend, Stanford would clinch outright (up 3 with two to play).

    LAST WEEK

    • No. 8 Stanford had a scare in Los Angeles on Wednesday, going down 0-2 before storming back to take the last three sets and the win over the Trojans on the road. The Cardinal wrapped up the weekend with a sweep at UCLA to make it 14 straight wins and 14 wins on the road, which is best in the nation.
    • Stanford’s 14-match win streak is tied for the second-longest in the country among Power 5 teams, trailing No. 7 Pittsburgh (18) and tied with No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 5 Ohio State. The Cardinal's winning streak is its longest since it won its final 17 matches in 2019 en route to the program's ninth NCAA title.
    • No. 12 Oregon also found its winning streak in trouble early in the weekend after dropping the first two sets at Colorado on Thursday before rallying from 10 points down in the fourth en route to a five-set victory. The Ducks followed that up with a 3-1 decision at Utah for their ninth straight win. After the pair of wins to close out its road slate, the Ducks moved up two more spots in the AVCA rankings to No. 12 and have climbed five spots over the last three weeks.
    • While the Trojans let one get away against Stanford, they ended the weekend with a 3-2 win over California to remain in third place, now tied with No. 25 Washington State. Both now sit at 11-5 in conference play after the Cougars went 2-0 in Arizona, sweeping the Sun Devils on Friday and taking care of business against the Wildcats 3-1 on Sunday. While not yet eliminated from contention at four games back with four games to play, the chances for a title for both the Trojans and Cougars is slim in that Stanford would need to lose all remaining contests to make that a possibility; however, both squads still have plenty on the table as they vie for NCAA postseason bids.
    • The 21st-ranked Huskies went 1-1 on the weekend, dropping a 3-2 match at Arizona and winning 3-2 at Arizona State to move to fifth in the standings at 10-6 in league play.
    • Four other Conference squads split their matchups last weekend - Arizona (W Washington, L Washington State), Colorado (L Oregon, W Oregon State), Utah (W Oregon State, L Oregon) and UCLA (W California, L Stanford).

    RPI REVEAL

    • Stanford remained at third as the Pac-12 highest ranked team in the most recent NCAA RPI report from Nov. 13, with Oregon moving up to 11th, USC at 21st and Washington 34th. Other Conference squads in the top 50 are Washington State (No. 38), Utah (No. 41 and Colorado (No. 48).
    • Stanford is 14-1 on the road this season, which is the most in the nation in 2022, and is just one of four Power 5 teams with double-digit road victories.
    • The NCAA DI women's volleyball committee revealed its first top 10 on Sunday, Oct. 2 and included a pair of Pac-12 teams in Oregon (7th) and Stanford (8th).
    • The Pac-12 is one of three leagues with multiple programs in the initial reveal along with the Big Ten (4) and ACC (2).
    • Stanford sits at eighth and Oregon sits at 10th in the committee’s latest rankings from Oct. 29.

    FOUR IN AVCA TOP 25

    • For the second straight week, four Pac-12 teams appeared in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches Top 25 revealed on Nov. 14 in No. 8 Stanford, No. 12 Oregon, No. 21 Washington and No. 25 Washington State.
    • The Cardinal and Cougars stayed put, while the Ducks rose two spots to No. 12 and the Huskies moved from No. 20 to No. 21. The Ducks have climbed five spots in the polls over the last three weeks.
    • Washington State cracked the top 25 for the first time this season on Nov. 7, marking the Cougars’ first appearance in the poll since they finished the 2021 season at No. 23.
    • USC and Colorado continued to receive votes with 14 votes and three votes, respectively.
    • Washington is in the rankings for the 62nd consecutive poll (not including fall 2020), a stretch dating back to Nov. 5, 2018.

    NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    • The Pac-12 has garnered two GameChanger/AVCA National Player of the Week awards by the American Volleyball Coaches Association this season. Stanford’s Kami Miner earned the honor on Oct. 25, while USC’s Skylar Fields picked up the award on Oct. 11.
    • The CAA and SEC are the only other leagues with multiple national players of the week. Last year, the Pac-12 led all conferences with four.

    SCHEDULE SPOTLIGHT

    • The Cardinal went 3-3 in both Top 25 and Power 5 matches during a gauntlet non-conference slate with those six matches in succession from Aug. 30-Sept. 17. Other ranked victories for the Conference came from Colorado (3-0) and Washington (3-1) against then-No. 19 Illinois.
    • Stanford's three ranked non-conference wins all came on the road - at then-No. 13 Florida (3-2), at then-No. 3 Minnesota (3-1), at then-No. 2 Nebraska (3-1).

    NUMBERS OF NOTE

    • Washington's Ella May Powell, the NCAA's active leader in career assists, moved into third in Pac-12 history last weekend with 6,036 career assists. • The Pac-12 is one of two Power 5 leagues to have multiple players with triple-doubles this season (ACC).
    • Tuaniga's 10 aces are the most in the NCAA season and tied with Stanford's Teresa Smith (vs. Illinois State, Oct. 19, 1986) for the second-most in Pac-12 history. Oregon's Lauren Westendorf has the league record of 12 from a match against Seton Hall on Sept. 18, 2004. It's a Pac-12 record for a Conference match, surpassing the nine from California's Gabrielle Abernathy (vs. Arizona State, Sept. 23, 2004) and Brook Coulter (at Oregon, Oct. 16, 1998).
    • Oregon's Mimi Colyer set a new Pac-12 record after she picked up her seventh Freshman of the Week award on Nov. 14, breaking the old mark set by USC's Ebony Nwanebu in 2013. Stanford’s Elia Rubin has won the other five freshman honors in 2022 with Rubin and Colyer becoming the first to win five or more since 2015 (Hayley Hodson, STAN - 2015).
