Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Michaël Geerts, Sr., Arizona State (Antwerp, Belgium)

• Geerts collected four wins at the No. 1 singles court and knocked off two ranked opponents to help Arizona State to a 2-2 record last week. The Sun Devils lost to No. 4 Ohio State, 4-2, but bounced back in the 2018 BNP Paribas Open Challenge by besting SMU, 4-2, and Tulsa, 4-1, to reach the championship match where they eventually fell to No. 39 California, 4-3.

• The biggest highlight came when Geerts upset No. 2 Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State, 7-6, 7-5, in a close matchup. He went undefeated in the Paribas Open Challenge, also topping SMU, 6-1, 6-4, and Tulsa, 6-4, 6-3, before defeating California’s No. 52 ranked Billy Griffith in the finale to notch his third win against a ranked opponent this season.

• On the top court, the senior holds a 10-1 record in his last 11 matches and hasn't lost consecutive matches since opening the season at 0-3. With four wins last week he jumped 26 spots in the individual ranks, coming in at No. 35 this week.

• Earns his second Pac-12 Tennis Player of the Week honor and Arizona State’s sixth all-time weekly award.
