Mosley, Polychroniou Set USC Records During First Day Of The UW Classic

Summer Mosley set the USC women's weight throw record, Nikolaos Polychroniou set the Trojan men's freshman weight throw record, Mecca McGlaston won the women's 60m hurdles and Chioma Okonkwo the women's 200m to lead USC during the first day of the UW Classic held on Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Wash. today (Feb. 11).

  • Mosley broke the USC women's weight throw record with a mark of 63-4.75/19.32m to place second.  She broke Brittany Mann's record of 63-3.25/19.28m set in 2017.  Mosley had a throw of more than eight feet better than she did in her previous meet this season and it came in her final attempt, moving her from seventh to second.  Joy McArthur placed fourth with a season-best mark of 61-3.50/18.68m. 
  • Trey Knight finished third in the men's weight throw with a PR of 67-8.25/20.63m.  His mark bettered his third-place standing on USC's all-time list in the event.  Nikolaos Polychroniou set the USC freshman record of 64-9.25/19.74m to place fourth.  Polychroniou broke Knight's record of 64-8.50/19.72m set last season.
  • McGlaston won the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.20.  Jasmine Jones finished second in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.32 and Jalaysiya Smith finished tied for fourth with a time of 8.42.
  • Zion Gordon took fourth in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.17.  He had a prelims time of 8.33.
  • Okonkwo won the women's 200m dash with a PR of 24.26 to close out the day's action for the Trojans.

Action at the UW Classic resumes tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
