2015 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament begins this week

Regular season champion Oregon State (26-3, 16-2) is the top seed at the annual tournament, this year at Seattle’s KeyArena March 5-8. OSU won its first ever Pac-12 title behind a 16-2 mark, Arizona State (26-4, 15-3), picked to finish sixth or seventh in the preseason, is the second seed, third-seeded Stanford (21-9, 13-5) has won 10 of the 13 tournament titles and fourth-seeded California (21-8, 13-5) was the media’s Conference champion pick. All four teams are ranked within the national AP top-26 with OSU at No. 8, ASU at No. 9, Stanford at No. 19 and Cal at No. 26. The first four seeds will receive a first round bye and start play on Friday.

On Thursday, March 5th, the first round will take place with seventh-seeded Washington State (16-13, 7-11) taking on tenth-seeded Oregon (13-16, 6-12) at 11:30 a.m. Sixth-seeded UCLA (12-17, 8-10) and 11th-seeded Arizona (10-19, 2-15) will play the afternoon contest at 2 p.m. In the night session, eighth-seeded USC (15-14, 7-11) will play ninth-seeded Colorado (13-16, 6-12) at 6 p.m. USC is the defending Pac-12 Tournament champion. Fifth-seeded Washington (11-7, 22-8) will take on 12th-seeded Utah (9-20, 3-15) at 8:30 p.m.

Friday’s games will pit ASU against the winner of WSU and Oregon and Stanford against the winner of UCLA/Arizona at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. In the evening, the Beavers will face the winner of USC and Colorado at 6 p.m., followed by Cal against either Washington or Utah. Game times are 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Stanford has a 35-3 all-time record at the Pac-12 Tournament, having never lost a quarterfinal game.

The semifinals will be at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, while the championship game will be on ESPN at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. The first three days will be on the Pac-12 Networks.
